Capital Credit Checks and Credits Coming Soon

It’s hard to believe but the holiday season is upon us. It’s a special time where families get together to spend time, share stories and enjoy some great food. Another great benefit for members in our area is getting a capital credit check mailed out or having a credit applied to your bill so you can have some extra cash to buy yourself or someone else something nice.
This year, the DRN Board of Directors approved a capital credit retirement of $3,000,000 which will impact over 9,700 members. This payout will cover any members who had telephone service with DRN in 2005, 2012 and 2017. Any member who is to receive a credit of $200 or less will see this amount automatically applied to their DRN bill. For anyone receiving more than $200 or no longer has service with DRN, they will receive a check in the mail during the first week of December.
If a customer had service during these periods but doesn’t see a bill credit or check in the mail, please feel free to call us. The reason they may not have received a check is because information on their account isn’t complete. Some issues we run into is the primary account holder hasn’t given us a social security number. This information is needed since the IRS requires us to have this on your account in case we issue an amount over $600 which would then require us to send a 1099 at the end of the year. Another problem we run into is if the account holder moved and we no longer have a current address on account which causes their check to be returned to us. One way of checking for this issue is by visiting our website's list of unclaimed capital credit checks by clicking here to see if your name is on the unclaimed credits list from prior years. If your name is on this list, you most likely need to contact us, so we can update your account to makes sure all past and future credits will get to you.
